What is RosaceA?

Do you catch yourself saying things like...

I blush easily!

My cheeks are always red and bumpy!

Why is my nose always red? I only had a sip of red wine!

If you answered yes, then keep reading - this blog with give you some options to manage your Rosacea.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that often begins with a tendency for someone to blush or flush more easily than others. It generally presents with persistent redness, flushing, visible blood vessels (telangiectasias) and bumps and pimples that are mostly found on the cheeks and nose. Some people experience a burning/stinging sensation and swelling. Dilated blood vessels with redness can also be an underlying factor in melasma.

There are many triggers for Rosacea, including sunlight, stress, heat, exercise, alcohol (red wine), spicy foods, some skin products including makeup, wind and cold weather.

How can I treat Rosacea?

Know your triggers and avoid them.

Next, focus on your skincare. A gentle skincare routine is a must! Look for products that help decrease skin inflammation. You can start with a gentle cleanser that foams and leaves your skin with a PH of 7 and a moisturizer that protects and repairs your skin barrier with anti inflammatory properties. I advise my Rosacea-prone clients to use ZO Rozatrol with a mild toner and plenty of sunscreen. Rozatrol works to reduce excess surface oil and visibly reduce the symptoms associated with Rosacea.

Your might also want to consider a HydraFacial treatment with the Zo Rozatrol Booster to help minimize skin redness while cleansing, extracting and hydrating your skin. For amazing results, IPL treatments will improve your skin tone and reduce the look of redness, broken capillaries and other imperfections.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, your physician may also prescribe medical therapy to control redness. Ask about metronidazole gel for example.
